New Zealand Holy Work Update 2024
Starting in 2024, many new immigrants began to enter New Zealand for employment. It was difficult for them to find employment due to a lack of opportunities. Thank the Lord, this situation brought many new truthseekers to our local churches to attend services and pray to the Lord to guide their future path. There were also brothers and sisters from Samoa who traveled back and forth between the two places in search of their children’s future. The Lord led many people to come from afar, giving the church a new look, and allowing brothers and sisters to care for each other and help everyone adapt to life in New Zealand.
Thank God for arranging two resident pastors after coordination among the three churches last year. It is expected that one pastor will be responsible for Auckland Church, West District Prayer House, and North Shore Prayer House; the other pastor will be responsible for East Auckland Church and the newly established East District Service Point and Christchurch. Due to the shortage of preachers, Auckland Church has recruited four retired preachers to assist in the work, namely Eld. Chenguang Tsai, Pr. Changwei Lin, Eld. Yingchu Li, and Pr. Thomas Hong. This has greatly helped Auckland Church in promoting various holy works. During evangelical services, many people came to church, experienced the Holy Spirit and its transforming power, which showed the abundant grace of God.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of East Auckland Church as well as the completion of Christchurch Church’s new chapel. Hence, a thanksgiving service and a dedication ceremony were held at the respective churches. Thank God that the church has entered a new stage after the pandemic. In terms of evangelism, each church has gradually built up a regular pattern for its evangelical work, which includes gospel tea fellowships and monthly evangelical services. The East District family service began in January 2024 and was held in the homes of different brothers and sisters. After six months, East Auckland Church rented the Highland Park Community House, a municipal activity center, to hold church services on Sunday nights. Since then, the number of people attending this Sunday night church service has been about 20. Brothers and sisters serve enthusiastically. May the Lord preserve and further the holy work of each church so that truth seeking friends can continuously participate in church services and share the benefits of the gospel.
This year, we have paid several visits to fellow believers in remote places as planned. We are grateful to many missionary workers, such as Pr. Fook-Fah Chong and Pr. Ezra Chong, who showed much care and concern for New Zealand and visited believers together, which has strengthened many people’s faith and their love for the Lord. The IA Executive Council members and many preachers took time out to care for the holy work in various places in New Zealand so that the churches received a lot of help and the believers were edified. These visits allowed many members to feel the church’s care and God’s grace, which made them especially grateful for God’s care and protection.
With the improvement of each church’s hardware facilities, the number of people attending services gradually increases and the gathering points in various places are progressively expanding. If the Lord is willing, He will lead everyone to enthusiastically attend services so that the church can gradually attract more people to come before the Lord to praise and worship Him together with us. May glory be given to His holy name. Hallelujah, Amen.
