2024 Overview of the Holy Work in Central and South America

Central and South American Coordination Center 2024 Church Report

There are still many unreached areas in Central and South America. In order to meet the needs of the ministry at each location, ministers make regular pastoral trips to various church service locations every year. In addition, we are increasing the use of the internet to assist every location with regular pastoral care, religious education, and other ministries.

Overview of the Holy Work at Each Church Location

Mexico Service Location:

As of October 13th, the number of baptized members at Mexico Service Location was 32, with 10 to 15 people regularly attending Friday night and Sunday Bible study services, and about 10 people attending the Sabbath services. In April this year, we bought a house in Mexico City to be used as a place of worship, which is currently undergoing renovation. Once the renovation is completed, we can move to the house we bought to hold services.

Mexico Service Location’s future development goals:

  1. There will be some transformation in the future. Having our own building will be of great help to pastoral care, preaching, training, and religious education. In the future, we need to improve the believers’ spiritual knowledge through various training and seminars so that more people can actively participate in the holy work.
  2. Actively preach the gospel.
  3. Register with the Mexican government’s Public Registry and actively complete the registration procedures.

Dominican Republic Service Location:

The renovation of the church building in the capital still can’t be carried out. We sincerely ask for everyone’s intercession in this matter.

Argentina Church:

Due to the impact of the pandemic and the financial crisis, believers have moved to other regions. Those who remain are still actively working for the mission entrusted by God – “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth” (Acts 1:8, NASB).

In terms of pastoral work, we continue to have wonderful pastoral experiences. We make regular monthly visits to the seven districts in the Greater Buenos Aires area and arrange visits to more remote areas in the provinces every year.

In terms of evangelism, there are still many believers with family members who have not yet believed in Christ; to bring them to the Lord is a goal that the church needs to actively work towards in the future. There are also local believers and truth-seekers who only speak Spanish, so evangelism in Spanish is something that needs to be actively strengthened in the future.

As for religious education, we thank God for giving the church many religious education students. Currently, the church has a complete religious education program, with classes for Kindergarten, Elementary 1 and 2, and Junior 1 and 2. Every winter and summer break, we hold student spiritual convocations to nurture the next generation. We also use online distance learning to assist religious education in other regions, and hold regular spiritual cultivation and training seminars for RE teachers.

There are still many unreached territories in the vast Central and South American regions. Hence, we hope that the elders and brethren will pray for the holy work in Central and South America.
