Moving Towards Maturity – Australia Coordination Board Holy Work Update
Adelaide Church’s second phase construction was completed in early 2025 where RE classrooms and extra toilets were built. Adelaide Church held their church dedication service on 10 May 2025. Pr. Ezra Chong, the newly elected chairperson of the Eastern Hemisphere Department of World Mission (EHDWM) was invited to assist with the dedication service. The Australia National Church Conference and Australia Coordination Board EXCO meeting were also held at the same time.
Thanks be to God that apart from Adelaide, expansion plans were also seen in churches in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Melbourne Church purchased a property in the northern side of the city in the suburb of Preston. Renovation work was completed in late 2024 and the first Sabbath service was held on 8 March 2025.
Sydney Church purchased a third property in August 2024 at 11-13 President Road, Kellyville NSW. This property is located in the north west corridor of Sydney. The property consists of two lots of land with a total area of 2,900 square meter with an existing 2-storey building previously used as a school and also an older 4-bedroom residential building. This residential building will be demolished with plans to build a new chapel, training centre and accommodation quarters.
Brisbane Church purchased a property in Gold Coast to be used as a worship point. This property is located at 49 Discovery Drive, Helensvale. The land size is 1,069 square meters. The first Sabbath service was held in August 2024.
In 2024, there were 3 deacons ordained in 2 churches. Dn. David Yong and Dn. Daniel Vun were ordained in Melbourne and Dn. Keoni Yang was ordained in Sydney.
Thank the grace of God that the membership in Australia has seen a year-on-year increase and there have been more than 1,000 believers since 2019. Churches in the major cities have also branched out like Sydney and Melbourne. New deacons were ordained to commit to the divine service in His kingdom. May God continue to guide and give growth to the churches in Australia (I Corinthians 3:7).
